At Northwest Equine Veterinary Associates a large choice of modern and cutting edge equipment is available for diagnosing a variety of problems. These equipments include for example on-site laboratory capabilities which are essential for providing fast diagnosis and prognosis and initiating the most adequate therapy during emergency situations. Complete blood counts (CBC) and serum chemistry tests can be done in just a few minutes providing important information as to the white and red cell counts, protein and platelet levels and the levels of different serum enzymes, electrolytes to assist in diagnosing liver, kidney, heart, muscle disease, tumors, electrolyte and metabolic imbalances among many other conditions.

Urine, fecal and certain skin testing are also performed in our laboratory. Additional equipment as advanced ophthalmic tools (for detailed eye exams), broncho-alveolar-lavage (BAL) diagnostic capabilities among others are available at Northwest Equine Veterinary Associates that allow our veterinarians to utilize excellent standards of diagnostics during their exams. We also work with several support laboratories and specialists so that submission of samples for more specialized tests and evaluations can be routinely done.
