"Tucker" owned by Judi Macdonald

Judi Macdonald is a very successful barrell racer having won many beautiful horse trailers! Her horse Tucker has been a Northwest Equine Vet patient since 2009. He is a very sweet and fast QH gelding!

"Indy" owned by Linda Gates

Dr. Latimer has been Indys vet for 5 years…..he did Indys pre purchase exam and gave me the ok to buy him!  Indy is an American Warmblood (3/4 Thoroughbred  & 1/4 Shire) In April of this year Indy started to flip his head around, since he is so well behaved I knew something was wrong.  Dr. Rothschild came out to complete the initial examination and quickly narrowed the problem down to an infected fractured  tooth. She also did a great job of calming me down as I was very concerned after researching  head shaking.   Once the infection was cleared up, Dr. Latimer took over with his advanced dentistry skills and ended up putting a  crown on the tooth…..it is just amazing what he was able to do.   I feel very fortunate to have a vet that is skilled in advanced dentistry.  Indys tooth is doing great and he is back to his usual silly  personality.  A big thank you to Dr. Latimer and Dr. Rothschild  for taking such good care of us!!

Linda Gates

"Gwen" owned by Chelsea Carrigan

Gwen is a senior TB mare that since February 2009 has been suffering from seizures and as a consequence many injuries. Her seizures are much better controlled now that she is on daily phenobarbital and wears her stylish head protecting mask! Gwen is a sweet heart and a joy of a patient! She has been through so much but has such a strong heart! She is very loved and cared for by her dedicated owners and lives a very happy life on a beautiful property every horse would love...

"Keno" owned by Jana Hadley

Keno is a lovely TW/QH cross gelding that suffered from a severe eye condition. After much therapy and temporary success for his own comfort and relief the decision was made to enucleate (remove) his eye.  He is one of the most cooperative and uderstanding patients ever!

Britasha Olsen riding her horses "Jet" and "Scarlet"

Yes, this is our own assistant Tasha! Here she is riding Jet a very handsome QH 4 year old gelding. He has been very successful in showing and loves a good back scratch!

Scarlet is a 3 year old QH mare actually owned by Britasha's mom. She is very sweet and loving but has something against stall walls (she likes to leave her hoof print in them, haha!). Aren't the two of them gorgeous?

El Jay Raysilla aka "Mieca" owned by the Keller family

Mieca is a very sweet and gentle mare owned by Etta Keller that developed a severe abscess on her left rump area concurrent with an upper respiratory infection involving the guttural pouches. She was dilligently flushed and treated with multiple antibiotics until full recovery! She is now ready to go again!

Etta Keller's testimonial:

"Dear Drs. Latimer & Rothschild:

Words cannot express my "thanks" for your time, energy, and expertise in quickly diagnosing, and thorough treatment of Mieca's illness.   After losing my gelding a few years ago to guttural pouch, I certainly did not want to see that pain and suffering for this mare.  I am confident, your state of the art technology, and kind and knowledgeable staff made the life-changing difference!!  I am forever grateful.  Maple Valley is a bit out-of-the way from Olympia, but well worth the time and travel. I am telling everyone in the mounted drill team community about your extraordinary services. As you can see by the Arrow on her hip, "everything is looking up!"

Respectfully,

Etta Keller, Drill MasterEqui-Stars Mounted Drill Team"

"Sugar" and "Bright Seven" owned by the McCracken family

Sugar is a pony cross mare of over 20 years of age. Here is less than 24h after foaling this very cute and huge colt named Bright Seven!

Sugar was a great mother always taking care and protecting little Seven!

Bright Seven resting peacefully after a good nurse!

"Reese" owned by the Huft family

Reese is a beautiful QH gelding that had been suffering from a severe eye disorder that required complete removal of his eye to stop his pain and discomfort...

The surgery was performed at Northwest Equine's clinic by Dr. Rothschild with the assistance of her staff. It was done standing with heavy tranquilizers and local anesthetics. He had a prostetic eye ball placed in the eye socket. Everything went really smoothly with no complications!

Reese waking up at the end of surgery.

Reese after suture removal with antibiotic ointment on surgery site to prevent infection. He had a great recovery and has been a much happier horse now!

"Extreeme Chance" by Janet Flork

"Extreeme Chance" (the colt) was born healthy but unfortunately suffered from failure of passive transfer (did not nurse enough colostrum) and in less than a few hours developed an umbilical infection and became sick. He required IV Plasma therapy and antibiotics.

After nearly a month of treatment and lot's of work on Janet's part "Extreeme Chance" is doing great, very active and playful!

"Wishes" and her filly

Wishes is a Hannoverian mare owned by D. Smith. This photo was taken 24h after foaling this very cute filly!

Wishes filly "Gabrielle" was very spunky and playful since she first stood up!

"May" and "April" Teal

"May" (the mare) suffered severe bacterial placentitis during her pregnancy experiencing a difficult high risk pregnancy. She was treated intensively with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories as well as much TLC from the Teal family. Finally, after over 45 days of treatment she was able to normally delivery her beautiful filly "April".

April required some antibiotic treatment for the first week of her life but that never stopped her from vigorously nursing and running around the paddock with her mom!  Now, both May and April are doing well living a normal mare and foal life!

Jeanette Maxwell’s testimonial: Sir Mortimer (Morty) is a 29 year old Standardbred gelding. His vets are Dr. Latimer and Dr. Rothschild. Dr. Rothschild saw Morty three times in September 2007 and each time it looked as though he had a very deep stone bruise which turned into an abscess. On the third appointment she took a few radiographs and it turned out to be a Keratoma. Which is a rare benign tumor. Since she offered to take the radiographs to look at the site she helped save his life. I will be forever grateful to her. He is now in rehabilitation and looks better than ever. Thank you Dr. Rothschild because of your dedication I will have my first horse for a longer time.
