Reproductive ultrasonography is important for soundness evaluation of the mare’s reproductive tract, for following the mare’s cycle (checking follicles and the uterus), monitoring uterine disorders, for pregnancy checks and for reduction of twins when necessary. It can also be used for evaluation of the stallion’s testicles when abnormalities are suspected.
