Kaylee Leydens

Dr. Kaylee Leydens is from a small town in Middle Tennessee where she developed the love for all things equine. She grew up showing in 4-H and competed for her university’s horse judging, stock horse, and horsemanship teams. Following her undergraduate studies, she took a break from school to work, travel, and show reined cowhorses, but eventually accepted her calling to become an equine veterinarian. It was during this break that she discovered her love of the Pacific Northwest!

Dr. Leydens completed her veterinary education at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) in 2022. During her 4 years in Bayou, she was active in the school’s equine club, worked as a student technician in the large animal intensive care unit, dodged a few hurricanes, and consumed MANY pounds of boiled crawfish.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Leydens completed a rotating equine internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in central Texas where she received further training in equine medicine, surgery, and ambulatory practice. Dr. Leydens enjoys all aspects of equine general practice, but has a particular fondness for lameness, ophthalmology, and emergency medicine.

Dr. Leydens is excited to call the PNW her new home. In her free time, she loves to explore all the outdoor activities that Washington has to offer with her Australian Shepherd, Carmen. She also enjoys traveling, horseback riding, workout classes, and spending time with loved ones.
